Libbie Mill Library came to Second Story with the desire to feature the rich, local stories of Henrico County, Virginia. This installation at the heart of the library allows visitors to learn about their county today through the context of its past. As the Experience Designer on the project, I helped shape the conceptual vision and visitor interaction with both the table and the wall.

The exterior wall leads visitors in by providing an overview of the boundary changes of the county since its inception in 1634.

Inside the installation, visitors use the table to explore details of a first-person narrative from a key person from Henrico history. The table allows visitors to explore how the impact of historic events can be seen in modern times, while activating supporting content on the wall monitors in front of them.
