The Art Institute of Chicago Website Redesign


In September 2015, the Art Institute of Chicago recruited me to kick-off an internal discovery phase for the collections portion of their website, which had not been updated since 2008. Three years later, we launched a full redesign of the entire web presence.

National Archives Rights and Records Interactive Exhibit


Second Story created this interactive table, wall display, and website to invite guests to explore the history of how the definition of our rights has shaped our cultural and political landscape.

Medieval and Renaissance Gallery Re-Installation


In the Spring of 2017, the Art Institute of Chicago re-opened its permanent Medieval and Renaissance gallery, featuring artwork rich with stories surrounding politics, war, religion, trade, and craft. The Digital Experience team—in collaboration with curators, interpreters, and external creative partners at Instrument—created a system of interactives that provide historical and cultural context to the exhibit.

Art Institute of Chicago Shop Redesign


The Art Institute of Chicago has a shop that carries products with the same unique tastes and values as the works in the museum’s collection. While the shop has two physical locations within the museum, a large percentage of sales occurred through the shop website. In alignment with our Art Institute Website Redesign, we took the opportunity to reminagine the shop’s brand and e-commerce strategy.

Libbie Mill Library


Libbie Mill Library came to Second Story with the desire to feature the rich, local stories of Henrico County, Virginia. This installation at the heart of the library allows visitors to learn about their county today through the context of its past. As the Experience Designer on the project, I helped shape the conceptual vision and visitor interaction with both the table and the wall.

AIGA 100 Years of Design Website


To celebrate AIGA’s Centennial, Second Story created an interactive microsite that tells the stories of the last 100 years of design and cultivates a public conversation about design for participants around the world. As the lead experience designer on the project, we collaborated to  develop this core concept: instead of organizing these stories by time or aesthetic we chose to organize them by the intention of the designer, elevating audience as a key element of the story.
