College Football Hall of Fame Gameday Experience

While working at Second Story | For Coca-Cola and the College Football Hall of Fame

2014

In collaboration with Coca-Cola, Second Story created two interactive games and one responsive food cart for the field at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. We concepted new ways to connect football fans with the brand values of Coca-Cola, providing physical activities to show— and share—their spirit.

The two interactive games make the visitor the hero, putting them in the spotlight to show off their touchdown dance and their reactions to different football emotions. These games can be played individually or as a group, and the content can be saved to the visitor’s RFID tag to be shared over social media.

Content from these games is then displayed intermediately on the giant “Jumbotron” screen in the field. The reactive cart experience adds a surprising moment to purchasing Coke products by sensing the location of both visitors and products. Graphics and audio are cued to create a light moment that does not interrupt the service flow of the concessions.

As the experience designer on the project—and a college football enthusiast— I helped craft the concepts, develop the story and content, and define the interactions for the three pieces. I particularly liked this project for the personal touches that you can see from many of the people in the studio, including the voice-over characters and the dancing silhouettes.
