Hey. I’m not ignoring you.

Digitally Printed Bikini

After a confusing breakup, I became interested in the idea of "impartial witnesses" to our relationship that could help point me towards an honest understanding of what had taken place.

Cleaning out the screenshots in my phone, I discovered text message conversations that I had saved between my ex, my father, and my lifelong best friend who passed away in 2012. I noticed parallels in why I had saved those conversations, sometimes out of sentimentality, cruelty, or profound intensity.

I used these text conversations as raw material for the surface design of this bikini, which mixes the dialogue between these three people and myself.
